Gaza Circus

Ahmed Mushtaha, age 38, is the founder and director of the Gaza Circus School, a performing arts troupe determined to bring some psychological respite to traumatized Gazans. Working in the most difficult conditions through the recent war and in the aftermath of the bombings and ruins, he and his team are bringing joy and hope wherever they can.

In 2025 he was interviewed by Analyst News about the history of the circus and their efforts to persevere.

Currently, we are contributing to their fundraising appeal. Ahmed describes plans to replace and expand their shattered enterprise.

CREATION & DESTRUCTION

“In 2011, I created this school with a simple but powerful mission: to bring joy, hope, and a sense of community to the children. Our circus was a sanctuary where children could learn the beautiful arts of gymnastics, acrobatics, juggling, and aerial performance. Over the years, it grew into one of the best circus schools, a place filled with laughter, talent, and big dreams.

The war has taken everything from us. Our school was completely destroyed, and all of our equipment, lighting, and curtains were lost.

OUR NEW VISION: REBUILDING & A TRAVELING CIRCUS!

Now, with your help, we have an even bigger dream. We want to not only rebuild our school but also create a traveling circus car. We will purchase a vehicle, transform it with bright colors and designs, and equip it with a DJ and powerful batteries. This mobile stage will allow us to travel throughout Gaza, performing free shows in the streets and bringing the magic of the circus to the children who need it most.

Here is how your generous donations will be used:

  • Traveling Circus Car: This will cover the purchase of the vehicle, custom painting and design, and essential equipment like a sound system and batteries.

  • New School Equipment: This will replace all the gymnastics mats, trampolines, aerial silks, juggling props, and other performance gear lost in the war.

  • Building Restoration & Operational Costs: This will help us with structural repairs, painting, new lighting, and other supplies needed to reopen our school's doors.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us rebuild the dreams of our children and ourselves. This isn't just about restoring a building; it's about restoring a right to life and joy.

Thank you for your kindness and support. Please help us spread this campaign to the whole world!”

Sincerely,     Ahmed and the Gaza Circus School
